This worked well for williams who switched on his heated seat, grips, cruise control and raised his electric screen. Edwards was not quite so lucky and needed peeling from the bike later on.
The high speeds also had a bit of a negative effect on MPG. Edwards suddenly slowed to a crawl after noticing the dreaded glowing empty fuel sign on his bike. Williams to the rescue with his integrated sat nav. We peeled off the M40 and circles Gatwick at least 3 times before we lucked upon a 24 h Tesco and edwards in-clenched his buttocks with only 2 miles showing on the clock. It was around 9.30 and friggin freezing.
We arrived at the port of Newhaven with about 30 mins to spare before the ship sailed. Anyone who has taken a bike on a ferry will know that they like to load the bikes first so we duly rode to the front of the que only to be met by the tattooed lesbian from hell who told us if she caught us skipping the que again she would send us to the back. Yes mum!
We just had time to take our helmets off and stretch our legs before boarding the ferry. Edwards managed to pull within a matter of minutes, the bald French guy with his back to you in the picture enquiring to his marital status and telling him he looked very attractive in high viz.

Edwards is currently playing with his helmet "grow up children" I am referring to his crash helmet. He has somehow managed to change the Bluetooth radio language to French, then Italian, then German.

Bikes all strapped down for the trip. The bike you can see to the left of Edwards is frenchies who was chatting him up in the que to get on the ferry.

Our tea on boarding the ferry. Horse curry! will look exactly the same coming out as it went in with the exception of the sudden appearance of sweet corn even though there was non in the curry.
Happy days, time for a beer and a kip
